Andrew, thanks for stopping by the ol’ blog today. Appreciate your encouragement! and your awareness of the myanmar/burma tragedy. url tracks to a beautiful org. with local presence and efforts already underway.
andrew,
thanks for the call to keep the people of burma in prayer. having been to burma and currently in relationship with many karen/chin refugees from burma here in the larger seattle area, i am very burdened by the situation.
on a different note, the global day of prayer for burma was on march 9.
but yes, we need to be praying and discerning how we can help the relief efforts.
oops. i just deleted that. thanks.
World Vision
The Salvation Army has a permanent presence in Burma (Myanmar) and is working there. If you choose, you can donate to their work here:
The Salvation Army
Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) is an amazing organization. Their web-page is http://www.mcc.com
Joel Vestal who started Servlife recommends this organization:

World Vision or the humanitarian branch of the Southern Baptist International Mission Board. I know that they have a lot of people already on the ground in Myanmar.
World Orphans as they support the local church on the ground. Check the video here:

Besides World Vision, which I am always a fan of, there’s Christian Aid in the UK.
It looks like Gospel for Asia is now involved.
