The Turkish Thing

I have been following the story of the three Christians killed in Turkey two weeks ago by “Islamist ultra-nationalists”. BBC says ten young people (19-20) have been arrested. Young people apparently are used in these murders because they get more sympathy. I read the details of the torture and murder and its really ghastly.

Some of these men who died were known the the group I was with in Switzerland so its close to home. Turkish believers ask for prayer for perseverance.

Those details were horrific. I can’t imagine what is in the mind of someone who can produce that kind of torture.
My prayers have been and will continue with those impacted. The family, friends and faithful who continue on sharing their faith in a brutal environment.

A pastor friend e-mailed me the report w/o warning on its content. It first made me weep, and then physically ill. I woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible helpless feeling thinking about these poor families. What to do but pray?
And at times like this, when it’s hardest to forgive, we simply must. Oh, God…. how can people do this?

I think we should not only pray for those loved ones who are impacted by these terrible event, but also for the people of turkey that god will reveal himself to them, for the church in turkey, that they will grow stronger and I think especially for those young people who tortured these brothers, how will they live with this pictures before their eyes?

yes – lets pray and ask protection for those still out there serving God. the deaths of these martyrs seemed worse to me, when i read the grisly details, than anything i have read in the Foxes Book of Martyrs.

Why are you following those events? You are in America and they are in Turkey. Almost the other side of the world. There are more terrible things that happen to muslims in America and all over the world than what happens to the christians. You all know that but don’t want to talk about. Those some people in the Middle-East who are terrorists don’t know what they do because they see what America does there. I know that because I went there. I saw it with my own eyes and I heared a lot about. I don’t accept what the terrorist do but I saw that America does a lot more things like killing innocent people than those terrorist and in a more brutal way. I know it’s hard to hear this but if you want to know the truth about America and there wars I would say you that you must go to the place of the event to believe it and see it with your own eyes. Kind Regards…
