Seattle next.

Off again. Back home for 24 hours after a good trip – staying with cool people (the Lawheads and Jonny and Jenny Baker) and a youth hostel in Aberdeen that wasnt very cool. Esp. the vomit in the sink this morning. I am having a nice evening with the family so that they remember what i look like. And then off in the morning to Seattle, for the conference on Missional Orders that starts on Monday at the Seabeck Conference Center. Over the next few days I will be meeting up with my wife’s family – who live in Oregon [we lived in Portland for 5 years] and I will be staying with Tom and Christine Sine who have been good friends for a decade.

If you happen to be swinging through Portland and have a Friday evening free, you should check out an awesome event called Nightstrike where Christians get together every Friday night (and have been, for the last 5 years) and love on people underneath the Burnside Bridge. We serve the marginalized, the suffering, and the homeless of Portland’s basic needs (food, foot washing, haircuts, and clothing), but the main reason we are there is to sit down at a table together and share life, engaging in conversation, and building relationships.
I’m an intern for Bridgetown Ministries, the organization that pulls it together. We are a local church mobilization organization whose mission is to provide opportunities for Christians to not just go to church, but be the church.
I pray your travels go smoothly!

When you get to Oregon, you will be in my neck of the woods. We have planted Loving God Fellowship ( http://www.LovingGodFellowship.org and http://www.LGFinternetChurch.org ) in Salem, Oregon. This is a real mission field.
    Know that you are loved,
    gaj
