Global Church Forum

A really important missions gathering is happening from Tuesday to Thursday in Chicago and is being streamed. I was invited to be there and blog the conference but I am still in the southern hemisphere and couldn’t make it. But I hope it goes well.

A lot of my friends are speaking there and I think this would be a conference thats worth following the streams and conversation.

So how did the event go? I saw you were an official blogger for the conference. Speakers looked amazing. And I thought the What If statement was interesting.

Hi Andrew, I can’t find your contact details, so this is a question unrelated to this post. I have been thinking about healing, signs and wonders etc, to day I found a website which talks about using healing in spreading the propel, but not by big name evangelists , not in rallies, not in a charismatic kind of way. Rather, by following Jesus’ command to the 12 and the 72 to ‘heal the sick’. And by being nameless workers, with low budget, low profile approaches, meeting one on one, or just sitting around in small groups. And healing for evangelism, as a sign, not just to kind of make people in the church feel a bit better Reminded me of your blog, so I thought I’d ask you for thoughts
I’ve always felt pretty uncomfortable with mass euphoria – style rallies and all that mustering up your faith business.
Anyway, have you hear of these guys? The right side bar summaries their approach

And what do you think God is doing with healing and the emerging church? I don’t know, I think God still wants to heal people, but it’s got a pretty bad rep.
    Any thoughts?
