Born Again Christian News Widget for Mac 10.4 was released this morning. 22 downloads at the moment but I am sure this number will rise quickly. I am so glad they didn’t use CAPITALS in every sentence on their site. Best part of the website is a gospel tract page for the street preachers, fundies and hard-core born-againers . . . or maybe for those who want to reminisce on those good ol’ days. Like me .. . for example. And if you want to get born again the old-school way, then pray through the sinners prayer here. Heck – lets all pray the prayer this morning. Eh?

i remember a time, when i thought that these books are cool and good for telling people about god …
i´m so happy, that my view of god and his story has changed =)
now i can´t believe, that there are still people who give these bokklets to non christians … what is the massage they want to tell?

A new form of chick lit?
This reminds me of of when my Dad got in big trouble when I was a kid for taking me to see Return of the Jedi cause it was of the devil… this was about the same time we burnt our Astrix and Obalix books cause they were of the devil to. No wonder we Christians are seen as weird….
Andrew, though I’ve never heard of these Chick Tracts (didn’t grow up fundie) I would be unlikely to use them. I do get some flavor of sarcasm on your part with regard to the sinner’s prayer and am curious to know which parts of it you find untruthful. How does one get ‘born again’ the new-school way?

i actually read through it again prayerfully as part of my devotion that day.
i no longer employ it as a simple fool-proof formulaic prayer for people praying to receive Jesus like i did when i was a street evangelist, but it still blesses me to read it.
