Ashrams and Emerging Churches

I upgraded from Mac 10.3 to 10.4 yesterday and lost some data inside ecto – my blog editor. There were only half a dozen big blog posts baking in the oven. But one of them was a lengthy post on Christian Indian Ashrams that I feel are worth examining in light of the nu-monastic structures in the emerging church. When I get some time i will try to rewrite that blog post.

    Andrew,
Would love to hear more of your thoughts on that. Many of us who are already in New Monastic communities are quite tuned into that conversation (our community’s blog is called The Ashram) and, due to the heavy influence of Newbigin and E. Stanley Jones, the ideas of Ashrams are being discussed a lot.

Yes PLEASE do continue to resurrect/write this one up. Any references would also be invaluable… Blessings, J

I had a similar experience the other week when I reinstalled OSX on the iBook. But, I’d backed up the Library folder in my account and hidden deep down in there I found my Ecto drafts which I rescued when I reinstalled Ecto.
If you have a backup of
    ~/Library/Application Support/ecto/entrydata.plist
have a look in there. If you have developer tools installed then the Property List editor should open it, otherwise use a text editor on the file. (There’s also a backup file in that directory too, I think)

thanks – ecto is not in that folder, although everything else is.

Oh well, it was worth a crack.
I’d also be interested in the Ashram post if you can bring it back in some form.
