Muse Rock!

B000G09Oem.01. Scmzzzzzzz V67099696 The band Muse is everywhere in London right now. TV, newspaper, internet, commericals. Its midnight and I am in London, watching a Muse interview on Channel 4. Muse TOTALLY Rocks! Their last album “Absolution” was incredible [see my blog post] and their new album Black Holes and Revelations maintains that high standard. The album is released tomorrow but I have been listening to it for a few weeks, thanks to an early release in other countries. And my mohawked son who will be seeing Muse perform next month at T in the Fringe.

Muse remind me of one of my all time favourite bands – Split Enz from NZ – who also dressed in black and white.

Matthew Bellamy, Muse’s lead singer and writer of much of their material, is an absolute GEEK and I love the guy!!!!! He talks a hundred miles an hour and his music, inspired by sources as diverse as 80’s rock and classical piano concertos, is absolutely unique. His lyrics are risky, bold, and layered beyond the comprehension of mere mortals.

YES! Another Split Enz fan! That sealed the deal on me checking out Muse. Thanks for the point in that direction. I’ll let you know what I think.

Ok, so I sent over to my Yahoo Music account and checked them out. A true winner. Not sure if you listened to the Hives or the Vines, but you may enjoy them as well.
I had to go back and listen to some Split Enz last night. Then that got me over to Haircut 100, the Style Council, and the Call… Ah memories…

    Hiya!
I know this is an older post, but I just had to give you a shout out.
I just finished putting up a post about Muse on my blog, and when I was doing a google search for a pic of the band I got referenced to your website…which I thought looked somewhat familiar and then realized it’s because you’re also linked to JR Woodward! Yay!
(I’m in LA now and part of his church out here.)
I dig Split Enz too, but never drew the comparison between them and Muse. Interesting…I do think SE are significantly more lighthearted though.
Actually I spent about 10 months in New Zealand a couple of years ago, and I credit Neil Finn with a big part of getting me out there. 🙂
    Ah, I miss Channel 4…

I love Muse! I live in California, and I dont hear much of them around here- even though they’re gonna be at the Honda Pavilion. But I think their music is awesome! The lyrics and music are unique, unlike other common bands. MUSE ROCKS!
