End of the week and we are pretty much moved in to our new apartment, a little home above a restaurant in downtown Stromness. Debbie has managed to find places for our things and made the place look bigger than it actually is.

Still no internet. I have been struggling with dial up numbers while we wait for ADSL to get connected but no joy. No joy at all. Here I am at the library compromising myself with Windows on a PC. How can I write creatively on a Microsoft canvas?

Today I am attending some business meetings in Orkney regarding the tourism industry and their relationship with VisitScotland.com. I am hoping to make some contacts and find new ways to help build the community here.

Weather is rotten. Stormy and windy. I feel the greyness in my spirit as well. Must be a Scottish turn of season kinda thing.

Got up at 4:30 in the morning and finished reading The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning. Classic book. Must read for everyone. Also read from Kings, Chronicles and Samuel in my new Bible.

Much to upload when my computer is connected. I want to talk about my reflections on USA and teh emerging church in that country. Yes, I know its hard to believe for some, but the emerging church is also alive and well in USA.

In the meantime, have a great weekend.

Hey Andrew, glad your back in the UK. Are you still looking into youth hostels up there? The greyness is in Aberdeen too, but keep hope, winter always looks great.

I truly miss the UK. That’s gotta be better than this 75+ degree Texas heat. I’m sorry you are on a PC right now, it doesn’t get worse than that.

Hey the greyness of a Scottish autumn & winter can even get to those of us who’ve lived with it all our lives. But you can’t beat the crisp clearness that comes when you get a North wind. praying the North wind will blow your way and lift the dreichness that’s fallen.

The Emerging church may be alive here (US) but it will be morphed into pre-packaged glitz and showbiz as fast as our culture can destroy it.

Praying for you bud. We got snow and ice. but hockey is on the tele.
Spent the other night reading through I and II Samuel in a 24-7 prayer room in here in Calgary, Alberta. Quite good to read all of it in one marathon sitting.

Ragamuffin Gospel is my yearly must-read. Deeply impacted my walk with God. Hope you enjoyed it as well.
