My Oh My

What on Earth is going on in my heart?
as it turns cold to stone…

Seems these days I don’t feel anything
Unless it cuts me right down to the bone.

What on earth is going on in my heart?

Cause my oh my you know it just don’t stop
Cause in my mind I wanna tear it up
I’m trying to fight trying to turn it off
But it’s not enough

It takes a lot of love
It takes a lot of love, my friend
to keep your heart from freezing
to push on til the end.

My oh my!

    oh no you didn’t!
i have been pondering/meditating on that song the past 2 weeks. i am including it in a talk i am giving to a high school camp here in the states at the end of July.
it is good to know that david grey and that song is moving in more places than just my heart.
some nice confirmation for me…..to bust out a secular “God-song” on those unsuspecting students!! 🙂
I think the song will follow a reading of Yertle the Turtle (Dr. Seuss) and a story of my hard heartedness toward the love of my step-father.
“Thought I knew what love was for”….that’s the line that gets me.

    oh, that was weird.
i read shawn’s comment before i knew it was shawn’s comment and thought, “weird, that sounds just like something shawn would do.”
i guess i was right. let the reading of yertle the turtle begin again. 🙂

Now there are some honest lyrics worth dwelling on for awhile.
