Pray for your local theoblogian

My blog was violated today (Easter). I had to delete over 30 comments.

Once this morning and then again later in the day. One guy used 3 different computers to post things – thank you to typepad.com for decent software that allows me to call up comments with their IP addresses and block them.
I went to church this morning and was thinking a lot about the spammers. During the service we had to take a little egg and say a prayer, i nearly said “God forgive the spammers” but i restrained myself and said “God forgive those that need it”
But since Coop is off the air (last post) and i am feeling kinda vulnerable and under attack, i have to ask the question – is there anyone else out there getting a little spiritual kung fu? Let me know, and dont forget to pray for your theoblogians – they need it.

this is so wrong. thank you for the head’s up on jordan and wendy, that makes me want to backslide from my new found pacifism… proud of you for praying for the ‘spammers’ – i don’t think i could find it in me… will be praying for you all though. thanks for all you do and blessings!

  • So sorry to hear the news about Jordon and Wendy. I’m praying for them and you. Please don’t discount the encouragement, resourcing, information, ministry and all around help that goes on through blogs like yours and the Coopers’. I’m sure you don’t hear it enough, but your giftings expressed over the internet are GREATLY appreciated.

Andrew – and Coop / Wendy
You have been inspiring to me in the past year since discovering your blogs. It has been a slow process, but I find I am thinking differently – this is good. I was particularly distraught to know that Wendy was being stalked.
You have been effective in challenging the church (corporately and as individuals) to reconsider its approach in today’s society, so I guess it should be no surprise that our enemy (spiritual I mean) would want to prevent this from happening further.
I keep thinking of the words of Jesus (Jn 17:14-18). Never in the history of man has there been a greater opportunity to impact the “world” than there has through the internet, and your blogs are indicitive of that.
” I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not. I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. They are not of the world any more than I am. Make them pure and holy by teaching them your words of truth. As you send my into the world, I am sending them into the world.”
So I pray that you will not be taken out of the world, and your place of impact on it, but that the Father would keep each of you safe from the evil one who would attempt to prevent the work of God continuing.
    God bless

Thank you for what you are doing. You are an encouragment to many. Stay strong. The world will hate us and that is an honor (not always fun, but an honor). Blessings to you my brother.

Hi Andrew, thanks for your comments. they mean a lot. Apparently the comment spammers target sites because the links increase their Google ranking (accoring to wired anyways)
Thanks to everyone who left some comments here. I appreciate it. Jordon has been looking at some technical solutions this weekend and all of the drastically change the way we blog. In other words, we lost, he won. Our blogs have been cleaned and changed but I don’t really have the courage to go live with it yet.
I appreciate the comments people have left and your prayers. There has been much more defeat then victory but that has to turn around here eventually.
