freedom and grid

I am still thinking about the idea of Grid, and the fact that creativity flourishes in constraint.
The word of the day from ourdailyblog.com is

“IF YOU wish to make progress in virtue, live in the fear of the Lord, do not look for too much freedom, discipline your senses, and shun inane silliness.” Thomas a Kempis

i left some comments there regarding freedom and why i like grids.

i find grids really helpful too [as a graphic designer] – grids create space for me to work with in, to lay stuff on, and to construct with. Actually, it’s amazing the variety you can find in using just one grid.

I like your explanation..as I find myself somewhere in between the two
ends you are describing..and I do
hope for continuance of healing in my heart and the hearts of others on the journey that is by no means over
