Jesus and Spirituality in a Post-Christendom World

I arrive in Cape Town on Thursday, a day or so early for Lausanne World Congress. This is because I am speaking on October 15 at an event sponsored by the Anglicans called Touching Heaven, Changing Earth.

There are 4 tracks at this conference – Alpha, Healing, Church Planting and Mission. My session is part of the mission track, organized by Canon Mark Oxbrow of Faith2Share, so that is the track I recommend. Sorry Tricia – nothing personal about Alpha.

My session in the mission track is called "Jesus and Spirituality in a Post-Christendom World". After my presentation, Rob Hay, Principal of Redcliffe College will interview me. But not too severely, I hope.

Also, Anglicans please note that Jonny Baker is jumping out of a plane to raise money for the new Pioneer Leadership Training that has just kicked off. Donations here.

  • The big question Andrew is what was the Spirituality of Yeshua – I don’t believe it was the same spirituality that Christendom pushes. Hence it’s a great time to rediscover the Middle Eastern spirituality of Yeshua and ditch Greek based philosophy in the guise of theology.
