Orkney Baptism and Bristol Team

A team of about 15 people are coming up to Orkney from Bristol this weekend to have a little retreat with us. They will be leading the worship on Sunday, seeing some of the monastic and historical sites, eating great food, doing some physical work on The Sorting Room and meeting my family. Hope the weather holds out for us.

One of the Bristol gang, Carly, is getting baptised in the cold waters of Orkney on Sunday and she was asking about how FREEZING it really was. I was pointed her to the video of my daughters taking the plunge a few years ago. Thats Elizabeth, Abigail and Hannah. They survived an extreme baptism without frostbite and none of them were swept away by the tide.

how inspiring – reminds me of all those times when i have baptised children and laughed because they were too light to actually go under the water completely without a bit more of an extreme dunk – so great to see these little ones loving and serving God with enthusiasm, exuberance and joy ! peace, julie
