Even in Aberdeen

I am putting together a small retreat for my DAWN mission colleagues in Aberdeen, Scotland at the end of the month. I stumbled across these words today from Rachel, who i met in Norway last year.

“Even in Aberdeen,

in these days,

the heart of the granite land;

I
m going to take off something.

Something is going to spread.

Something from the North

down to the Borders

and up to the Highlands,

to the Islands

and right from Aberdeen.

Something is breaking even at this time.

And I am striking the heart of the

masonic stronghold even in that City..

And I am turning the momentum,

of the grain and desperate

and that which has been so stone like

and I am raising it up…

I am raising up a new sound

says the Lord your God.

And God says to you,

Even in these days,

Watch the City of Aberdeen.”

  • I once heard a prophesy from a pastor far inside the norwegian arctic circle that revival was going to come from the North.
Which to most eyes seems unlikely, knowing the north in general. I don’t know whether that applies also to the North of the UK…
Mind you, the other week I heard a fine sermon from a young man in a church in Thurso, so maybe the scottish fire will reignite.
Well, who knows. Revival from the grey of Aberdeen seems pretty unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

  • Yeah – there have been a few prophecies about an awakening coming from the North of Scotland and sweeping over the whole land. Perhaps the “most famous” was by a lady called Jean Darnell (not sure I’ve spelt the surname right), where she had a vision of a giant wave sweeping over the nation from the North.
Hey if you have time when in Aberdeen why not look up a friend of mine, Stephen Hibbard, he’s just taken on the Pastorate ship at Sheddocksley Baptist Church(AB15 6LN). He’s not “emerging”, but a good guy nevertheless, and would certainly be aware of prophetic words over Scotland & the UK.
