19 Welsh Elvises

This blog is 4 years old today. The first post on June 3, 2001 was about some Elvis impersonators in Prague that Derek and I were hanging with. They were from Wales and there were 19 of them. There was no title feature back then, but i would have called it “19 Welsh Elvises”. In fact, that was almost the name for this blog.

We were living in this apartment in Prague, on June 3, 2001, the day I starting blogging at tallskinnykiwi.blogspot.com. It was a fantastic little Communist apartment that was warm and cosy despite looking quite bland and lost in a sea of concrete apartment building blocks. There were 3 bedrooms, and Debbie and I slept in the living room – which is quite normal for Czechs . . . and its usually where the TV is located anyway so its not a bad idea. We ended up taking a bedroom when others moved in with us. We carved out space for Amy in the living room. But when the number grew to ten people, we figured it was time to leave the little apartment on the 3rd floor and get something bigger. Amy married our resident prophet named Derek Chapman and they stayed there. They now blog at TheBearableLight.com and live in Austin.

Ahhhh . . those were good times. Last year I drizzled on and on in this long post with a history of blogging and my favourite headers. Like this one with the Elvises on it.
